There is a FREEDOM I experience in dressing up.
Sometimes it is simply a t-shirt with a vest atop.
But some of us need clothes to unhide who we are not.
It's most beautiful when we follow only our owned rules.
That is why Halloween (in modern times) is so impeccably cool,
and fun, and wild, and true all at once.
Because for a week (and for the excited celebrants among us, sometimes two), I can reveal my inner wild-child in an outfit, and be "normal",
be it in Fairfax or in France - at Le Monster Festival.
THE END. Have a boo-tastic HALLOWEEN 🎃 my friend.L Y R I C S
There is a very scary cat
running through my
mind.
It wears a dirty
smelly hat - the
Thomas Sawyer kind.
It turns to look at me -
as if I'm a Gold Fish dinner.
I say, Cat you better Leave!
I'm an Old School sinner.

L Y R I C S cont'd
I put my makeup on and go
into the night.
I am a Vicious Village Queen with city
ties.
They turn to look at me!
I said They turn and look at me -
like I'm an Old School sinner.
Thank God, it's HALLOWEEN,
so I can fit in better...

Halloween Halloween,
put your guilt away!
Halloween Halloween
Trick-or-Treat all day.
Halloween, Halloween -
put your fears away,
Halloween Halloween,
all are free to play___
THERE IS A VERY SCARY CAT,
RUNNING THROUGH OUR
MINDS.

I sing these to you at Simple-As-I-Am... - just me, my guitar and you...

I used to live life in a rush... time passed me by.
Then one day you showed up, made me realize...
LIFE IS BETTER IN SLOW MOTION - WHEN YOU KISS ME IT'S LIKE AN OCEAN
KISSED THE DESERT FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME!

Words could not express how I felt
for you...
- when I started to tell the world what you mean to me:
ALL THAT CAME OUT IS: "PADA-DUM PA DA DUM" :-) I call it my expression for love, in French haha

TRUTH is never sold... and lies are never told: MOTHER'S IDEALS.

I pondered on Dr. King (about his motivation to secure equality), and it dawned on me it must have been based on a pure LOVE FOR THE WORLD.

The Night I Finally Moved Out: we both knew without a doubt;
that the fights, the tears - and all the shouting!?
Well, I got in my car, rolled the windows down
- turned the radio on, and they were playing our favorite song!

(a playlist of several songs I wrote)

Clocks are just an every-day part of life,
until she meets him - then clocks start tick-tocking here / there/ EVERYWHERE
when they're together!
- 'cause time flies!

I write songs to soothe - even the loud and dirty songs, are designed to bring 'answers', emotionally. In a word, the aim for my work is to: soothe. All songs (c) 1990 to present, Nke ng afac Al em anji K ole-Ko l e A ju a (stage name(s): Papushka PaPuShKa / Pooshka Pooshka / Song-Man, SongBoy Mucho Successo -- hey, things take time to... flow). ABOUT SongBoy Mucho

C O N T A C T

WORDS I wrote: lyrics (and prose from Dear-Diary Music-Videos).

The One About Mother:
The truth is never sold. And lies are never told.
Every person's blood flows through vessels much like yours...
A circle is a line
a straight line changed in time
So as long as you can, read - build your memory.
Why Perhaps Breakups Occur
I never knew that I would be so blue
without you here with me - no oh
And never ever have I cried
so much for someone like I cried for you.
If I, if I, if I only could
tell you how much of a fool
I was to hurt you
Would you, would you? - would you come back to me and...
Stay with me and share our dreams?
Baby baby baby, missing you breaks me
Baby, baby, baby, you must really hate me

I called the Doctor and said
hey doc can you give me something please
to erase memories...
The One About The Girl In The Glass-walls Halls
You've sacrificed too much in crying...
You're lost and no one understands.
It seems he's left you - for good this time. He's left you for good and you don't know why...

The One About Sibling-Friendship:
The day before I left
I made it hard to see that pain burned in my chest
Because I had to leave
I made a card for you - a card to say farewell
And then I wrote in it in blue - "May God keep you well." - Oh my Pricess,
I'm coming home to be with you
I miss all the little things we do
It won't be long before I come back home - I'm coming home to be with you.
Time doesn't know - how slow it could go - when I'm so far away from you and from home
Sometimes nothing comes to mind, except for your smile
Oh how I long so much to be with you for a while
Oh my Princess:
I'm coming home to be with you
I miss all the little things we do
It won't be long before I come back home - I'm coming home to be with you.
Someday if I should get the chance to
make it up to you, I promise to make amends you know for all the time unused (tick-tock, tick-tock)
Oh my Princess:
I'm coming home to be with you...

SO THEN, THE PEOPLE SHOUTED: "ENCORE! - ENCORE!!" THANK YOU. MERCI. ARRIGATO. KUMAWO. DANKE. SPASIBO. NKONG'TEH.

  • FROM THE Mini-Story MUSIC-VIDEO:

  • When I was young friendship between my brothers, my sisters, and I was so strong

  • It never occurred to me that... that it may not last long

  • But then first we got separated by distance: - higher learning, education, attending different schools.

  • Next it was off to seek better opportunity: different countries. Yeah, indeed. Continents apart, we start getting lazier at doing the things pertinent to regularly interact. And slowly we drifted... drifted... a p a r t.

  • But recently I put my foot down,...

On this musical journey I aim to make songs which soothe...yeah.speaking of soothe, I am working on a dear-diary video called:
"THE VALUE OF OUR TEETH!" - hahaha

  • As I age some things start to make more (and more) of an impact on me, if the slightest thing about them changes...

  • I am noticing the silliest of things : ) one of these is: the value of my teeth!

As I feel my way through life, I write every-day things into songs...

  • The Value Of Our Teeth

  • As I age some things start to make more (and more) of an impact on me, if the slightest thing about them changes...

  • I am noticing the silliest of things : ) one of these is: the value of my teeth!

The Value of our teeth:
I can't walk straight any more.
It's a back thing or a hip thing - I'm really not sure.
But that makes me think: "What next?" I love to eat jellof rice!!! de Cameroun... [the best, no?] and then occasionally chew a few (several) sticks of gum...So what happens when my case of slowing-vibrance spreads; and I begin to lose my teeth. Oh I would be so (WAY SO) blue!
I'd be straight up PEESED. Yes, indeed!!!!!!!

Dream... to reality.

It all starts with a dream. When I was a kid, I'd spend endless hours hand-writing lyrics from famous songs, to learn how words 'worked together'.

Because inherently I knew that if I could intertwine words that otherwise don't "belong", i could make marvelous songs.

The journey from Dream-to-Reality is always long - very, very l-o-o-o-o-ng.BUT I WON BECAUSE I DID PERSIST:
"Form your style" - when I turned from high-school choir leader into a bar-performing college kid, (and began singing my own songs more-and-more, around the Richmond VA area, then Philadelphia PA: go Manayunk!) I noticed I had to be my own person.
STYLE:
-a bit folk-y, sometimes country, a touch of Afrique-beat. (All delivered with a whole lot of love.)

SKILLS:
Song-Maker + Lyricist. And freakishly awesome vocal 'harmony-ist'.
-Write lyrics. Develop melody (which sometimes is a heart-drenching process, trying this melody or that melody, to bring emotions forth melodically-accurately!)
-Sense artist's feeling (when writing-for-hire); convey story-path, pin-point 'catchy' elements
-Produce: rhythm, sound-structure, density/sparseness
-Produce: budget / locations / contracts / time / travel / musicians / song-parts / and yes: sandwiches for the (day-long) sessions!
-Arrange: get the hell on with it; ooh wait... sing that background part again
-Background-Harmony: oh, yes!
-Melody: I love distilling melody so much, I'll write a melody inspired by the sound of a fart. Yes I will.

Dream... to reality.

It all started with handwriting lyrics - from Cassette tapes (frantically) during radio-playback. THE OLD TIMES! ; )

From Dream-to-Reality: I started with hand-writing lyrics from famous songs, to learn how the words 'worked together'.That exercise entailed playing and stopping a song, to figure out the words (if I didn't have a lyrics-insert from the Cassettes):
So I would hit: PLAY > / then listen / STOP [ ] / REWIND << / PLAY > again, then listen (AGAIN), to figure out... "what words is Madonna singing?" HAHA
(Then write the lyrics as fast as I could).
PERSIST:
-Decades ago, I dreamed up this dream: to be a song-maker - and here we are today;
-"overnight success"?: we all know such a thing does not exist.

I ENJOY:
putting words on paper
-and so I am a lyricist
I carve out the sounds that sell these words the most emotionally-adroitly
-and this is the song-maker in me
ARRANGING rhythm, sound-structure, density/sparseness - and doing it all within a budget
-makes me Mr. Producer along with deciding recording locations / coordinating contracts / session-time / travel arrangements / musicians-for-hire / song-parts / and yes: sandwiches for the (day-long) sessions!

The Dear-Diary Video...

Sometimes a few words can unlock a thousand emotionsI created the 'Dear-diary' video genre as a sort of "journal-entry".It's like I wrote: "dear-diary today I felt like this..."The 'Dear-diary' video reveals the emotion that inspired me to write a lyric, or a melody, or a thought-article.For years (I'm talking y e a r s), I kept tinkering..., thinking: _"how can I REALLY convey the FULL ARRAY of emotions I felt when I wrote something?"And the "dear-diary video" was born...The Dear-diary video is like a lyric-video, but instead you read an entire mini-story... or short poem - that connects to the song's main subject.
